Wei Lin, Ph.D., is the Chief Operating Officer of aiLegal Law, where he oversees the firm’s business operations with a strategic emphasis on scalability, efficiency, innovation, and growth.
Dr. Lin brings a wealth of experience in business leadership, having held executive roles including President, Chief Operating Officer, Vice President of Business Operations, and Chief Intellectual Property Officer across multiple successful start-up ventures. Notably, he was a key member of the leadership team at MX Logic, Inc., a pioneering cloud computing software company that was later acquired by McAfee. Most recently, he provided business operations consulting for Pax8, a leading global distributor of cloud software.
His expertise spans a diverse range of industries including Internet technology, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, education, and real estate. Additionally, he holds the distinction of being the inventor of several issued patents in anti-spam technology.
A graduate of Tsinghua University, Dr. Lin earned his Ph.D. in physics from Indiana University, Bloomington. He pursued postdoctoral research at the forefront of nuclear and mathematical physics, working at MIT’s Center for Theoretical Physics and Laboratory for Nuclear Science, as well as at the University of Washington’s Physics Department.
In addition to his business and scientific accomplishments, Dr. Lin is a passionate educator. He has taught physics at Georgia Gwinnett College, served as an AP Physics instructor at The Weber School, Georgia’s premier private Jewish high school. Additionally, he has mentored numerous students in college-level physics and calculus, fostering their academic growth and sparking a lasting curiosity for science and mathematics.
Dr. Lin is a dedicated servant leader who actively gives back to the community. He has served on the advisory boards of the Computer Science Department at Denver Technical College and the Colorado Institute of Technology Transfer and Innovation at the University of Colorado. As a long-standing board member of the Tsinghua Alumni Association of Georgia and particularly as its president during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic, he led critical fundraising, procurement, and delivery efforts that provided protective equipment to frontline responders. His leadership during this time exemplified his deep commitment to service and community impact.
